We love plants and growing things

Our club is for all gardeners – whether you have a windowbox, a small balcony, an allotment or a garden.

Neither expertise nor a garden of your own is required to join us as a member; just an interest in gardens, outside spaces and a love of plants and planting.

Our annual events programme includes monthly meetings on a wide variety of topics, trips, walkabouts and social events. Meetings are usually held on the first Tuesday of the month in the Crypt of St. Peter’s Church in De Beauvoir.

The club was founded in 1978 by the landscape gardener Jude Moraes. For the Club she organised expert lectures and visits to foreign gardens in France, Holland and Ireland. The Club provides an opportunity to meet other gardeners of all persuasions and abilities from all over Hackney and Islington. Our borough is fortunate to be one of the greenest in London and the De Beauvoir Gardeners exist to celebrate our gardens and open spaces. The club helps to maintain Ufton Gardens, now called Rainbow Park, as a wildlife friendly community garden in association with Hackney Parks Department.

If you want to know a bit more the Benyon Estate have written a piece about us and what we get up to that you can read here.

You don’t have to be a member to come to a meeting, guests are welcome for a small charge of £4. We very much look forward to seeing you.
