We were blessed with the perfect summer’s day to enjoy Waterperry Gardens and Upper Chalford Farm on Saturday. I think most would agree that the contrast between the two made for very interesting comparisons. One is a bigger, more formal garden but with pretty and abundant borders, a rose garden, a wooded area next to a river, restaurant, museum, charming old church and garden centre. The farm is part of the National Garden Scheme and this rural idyll is the result of twenty years love and hard graft by the Rooksbys. Picture postcard perfect and the BEST cream tea made quite an impression on us all. A great day out with much bonding over the value of sat nav!
I’ve finally updated the gallery with pics by Stephen King of the coach trip, Chris Preston’s garden and the tour of kew here.
